Hot Cross Bun Oats
This oat bowl is an energy-sustaining breakfast to keep tummies full and nourished on a day when chocolate is on the menu all day long! With the Hot Cross Bun Easter theme flavour, it fits into this fun, family day. And for some extra delight you can use our Easter Bunny paw print stencil to make a cacao powder print on top.
HOW TO MAKE IT
What ingredients you need:
1 ½ C rolled oats
2 ¼ C water (plus extra for overnight soaking)
¼ tsp fine sea salt
1 ½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp ground ginger (add 1/2 teaspoon for a more spicy flavour)
⅛ tsp allspice
3 Tbsp pure maple syrup
½ tsp vanilla
2-4 Tbsp pecan halves
Handful of raisins
For the icing:
1 Tbsp Cacao Butter, melted
1 Tbsp coconut milk, warmed
½ tsp fresh lemon juice
½ Tbsp pure maple syrup
STEP 1: To make the oats extra creamy either soak overnight, or for about 1-2 hours before preparation.
STEP 2: Rinse the oats after soak time. In a pot with 2 ¼ C water, salt, cinnamon, ginger and allspice simmer for about 5 minutes, or to desired consistency. In the meantime, blend up the icing ingredients.
STEP 3: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. Top with pecans, raisins and drizzle with maple syrup and optional cacao butter icing.
Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
How to get those healthy fruit portions in on a day of chocolate? Dip them in chocolate sauce of course! Strawberries are a sweet, juicy fruit source of vitamin C and antioxidants. Dipped in raw chocolate they are made even more healthy with the antioxidants and minerals from cacao. Super easy to do and a delight for the lunch table!
If you’re looking for something extra special, here are some creamy, soft-centred chocolates to try. You have the option to temper them too. You could also add a few chopped almonds to the filling for a crunchy centre, and some vanilla or more salt, and even a smidgen of peppermint essential oil for different flavours. Have fun with this!
Just in case some warm, calming comfort is needed this Easter, our M&M Steamer is creamy and frothy made with calming mesquite, stress-busting maca and protein-rich hemp seeds. Sprinkle with grated Superherb Zero Chocolate Bar for a melted chocolate puddle on top.
